GRUPO ANDERSON'S HISTORY

In 1963 the Anderson' Group was initiated thanks to the efforts and ideas of a youngster named Carlos Anderson.

Ever since he was a student in mexico city, carlos always had an interest in buying a bar and restaurant. In 1957 he opened a hamburger stand inside the campos were he served hamburgers and beer called "Si Como No".

Later on, he opened several stand all over the city including one at the "City Expo".

He didn't have too much sucess with the business that he owned and he needed a lot of money to establish a permanent enterprise.

In 1962 he met the owner of "The Siesta Hotel" who offered him a job as a manager of the hotel and restaurant. This is were he began the best restaurant chain in the Anderson Group. In 1963, this restaurant became known in Mazatlán as the Carlos Anderson "shrimp bucket restaurant".

He worked day and night serving meals while his wife from 6:00 p.m. until dinner at 12:00 p.m. (al ojo del amo...) His wife worked at the door receiving customers, as cashier and baking cakes; everynight they presented a mexican show in which a group played mexican music and Carlo's daughters danced dressed in mexican customs.

In a short time it became a great success. The clientelle would look for Carlos and ask him for advice on places to visit and what to do in Mazatlán.

He helped them to obtain fishing boats, take them to the doctor when they were sick and satisfy all their needs.

It was these deatails that distingwished him from all other business "touch" (distintion) of the chain. Chuy Juarez was his co-worker who soon they became partners and bought the restaurant.

Years later they opened the first "Señor Frog's " in Mazatlán.

Until today the chain is still growing; now it is a group of more than fifty restaurants the majorty located in Mexico, but we have crossed the borders to Braazil, the United States and Spain.
