The "Essex"-class attack aircraft carrier USS Hancock, CVA 19
seen underway around the late 60's. Between 1965 and 1974 HANCOCK
made eight combat cruises to the Gulf of Tonkin, all but one with
Air Group 21.
USS Hancock, CVA 19 in Subic Bay Philippines, March 7, 1966 just months before Conrad went aboard. This was the configuration for the Viet Nam era. Conrad was aboard from September 1966 until January 1968. He was in OE Division, as ETR3 then ETR2.
