USS Hancock, CVA 19

The "Essex"-class attack aircraft carrier USS Hancock, CVA 19 seen underway around the late 60's. Between 1965 and 1974 HANCOCK made eight combat cruises to the Gulf of Tonkin, all but one with Air Group 21.

First commissioned on 15 April 1944, HANCOCK received four battle stars for WWII service. She was stricken on 31 January 1976 and subsequently scrapped.

Conrad was aboard from September 1966 until January 1968. He was in OE Division, as ETR3 then ETR2.
